The same platform serves mathematicians formalizing theorems and engineers verifying production systems. ACM SIGPLAN recognized this convergence with its 2025 Programming Languages Software Award: “Lean has become the de facto choice for AI-based systems of mathematical reasoning.”

Anthropic opposed creating an independent state agency with authority to define, audit, and enforce safety requirements. The justification was that the field lacked "established best practices". Thus, an independent agency lacking "firsthand experience developing frontier models" could not be relied on to prevent developers from causing critical harms.
